the Arab Association for Human Rights (HRA) published the English version of a report published in Arabic and Hebrew in March 2008. the report, titled Unprotected Citizens: Amidar public housing company threatens to evict 497 Palestinian families in Jaffa-Tel Aviv, documents the danger of eviction facing the Palestinian residents of the Ajami neighborhood in Jaffa and reveals the true motives behind this process, i.e. judaization of Jaffa, which is currently perceived by the Jewish public as an “Arab” city. Where Villages Stood: Israel’s Continuing Violations of International Law in Occupied Latroun, 1967-2007	Date: 31-03-2008

Located in the Latroun enclave of the West Bank, north-west of Jerusalem, these three Palestinian villages were razed to the ground by the Israeli army upon its occupation of the area in June 1967, despite the fact that it was met with no resistance. The study presents revealing information unearthed in Israeli government archives, demonstrating the intent behind this destruction. The civilian residents of the villages, numbering up to 10,000, were forcibly transferred out of the area. Over 40 years later, and despite repeated attempts, the villagers have been prevented from returning to their land to rebuild their houses and their lives. They remain displaced in the West Bank, Jordan, and beyond. Read more

A recently published study by the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies (CIHRS) confirmed that the revolution in information, the era of satellites, and claims of restructuring and development of the audio-visual communication sector experienced in some Arab countries in the last years did not result in severance with the legacy of hegemony and monopoly imposed by Arab governments on audio-visual communication in particular.
