Objectives of the Working Group


According to its mandate, the main objectives of the WG are to promote and protect human rights regarding:

  • Ending the Israeli occupation, and realising the Palestinians’ right to self-determination, in accordance with international law including UN resolutions.
  • Respecting the rights of the Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and in host countries, in accordance with international human rights and humanitarian law.
  • Realising the rights of Palestinian refugees in accordance with UN Resolution No. 194.
  • Securing the rights of Palestinian citizens of Israel based on international covenants and conventions ratified by Israel.
  • Advocating the right of civilians to protection under international humanitarian law.
