Meeting of the Board of the Euromed Non-Governmental Platform in Casablanca
 
The Board of the Euromed Non-Governmental Platform elected at the General Assembly of the Platform on 10-11 November 2007 in Madrid, held its first session on 12 and 13 January 2008 in Casablanca, Morocco. At this meeting, the Board examined the current situation of the Platform and its relations with the Euromediterranean Institutions and its different partners, and reviewed its orientations in the light of the issues and concerns of the democratic civil society in the Mediterranean space.
At this meeting, the Board adopted its Action Plan and Budget for 2008, and decided to give mandate to the Executive Committee to urgently start the necessary contacts and meetings with all its partners including the European Commission, Spain and France…, and to present the outcome of such contacts at its next session in order to continue its meetings with the rest of its partners in the Mediterranean space.
The Board also elected its Executive Committee which is composed of:

At the end of the meeting, the Board members commended the success of the General Assembly of the Platform in Madrid and praised the efforts of all persons and parties that have contributed to its success.
The Board also commended the former Chairman, Board members and staff.
The Board members also thanked the Moroccan Network for hosting this first session of the Board, and reaffirmed the determination of the Euromed Non-Governmental Platform to remain a proactive force working side by side with all its partners in order to ensure the effective contribution by the democratic Mediterranean civil society to development, democracy and to the promotion of human rights and equality in this space.
