C.D.F Secretary Council Meeting Date: 13-02-2008

The C.D.F Secretary Council held a meeting on February 8th 2008 , attended by majority of members who discussed its schedule and the following points:
 
1 - the council discussed the human rights state retreat in Syria , specially the detention of Damascus Declaration National Assembly members, who one of them is our colleague Jaber Al Shofi. And demanded authorities to release them with the other opinion detainees.
2 – it also discussed and condemned the retreat of freedom of expression and journalism. Mazin Darwish presented an interpretation about his detention.
3 – it expressed its concerns about the exceptional tribunals and their verdicts, and non impendence of judiciary.
4 - it expressed its deep concerns about Dr. Arif Dalila's life, and demanded to be released.
5 – it discussed and condemned the violations by Syrian authorities toward the Syrian citizens who opposed the prices rise.
6 - it discussed and condemned the violations by Israeli occupation forces in the Syrian Golan heights.
7 - it discussed and condemned the wild violations by Israeli occupation forces in the Palestinian Gaza strip.
8 – it discussed the letters sent by the C.D.F branches outside of Syria, and decided the following:
The C.D.F member, Mr. Abdul Baqi Asaad, loses his membership as a member in the C.D.F. , according to the Basic System\ article 11\ 2006. due to the following reasons:
A – utilization of his membership for personal interests and goals that go contradict with the C.D.F main principles.
B – spreading ideas that contradict the C.D.F goals stated in its basic system. via attacking and accusing his colleagues in a way that doesn't suit a Human Rights activist, although he was officially alarmed.
C – according to the above stated reasons we draw the attention of our colleagues in international and regional associations interested in H.R. affairs, not to deal with Mr. Abdul Baqi Asaad as a representative of the C.D.F outside of Syria.
D – according to the resolutions of the general assembly, Mr. asaad will be replaced by Alaeddin Bayasi of the reserved list.
 
9 – it discussed the next meeting schedule, time and date.
